Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 4 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KNC Kitchen Cupboards (Pty) Ltd (“KNC Kitchen”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, or otherwise get in touch with us. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.

By using this website or submitting your details to us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who we are

KNC Kitchen Cupboards (Pty) Ltd is a custom cabinetry business based in Johannesburg, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, we are the “responsible party” that determines how and why your personal information is processed.

2. Information we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to your enquiry and provide our services. This includes:

Information you give us

When you complete our quote or contact form, message us on WhatsApp, email us or call us, we may collect your:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Project details — the service you’re interested in, property type, your area/suburb, indicative budget and timeline
  • Any other details you choose to include in your message

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and running reliably. We do not currently use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote
  • Arrange consultations, measurements, designs and installations
  • Communicate with you about your project
  • Provide after-sales support and honour any warranty
  • Keep proper business and financial records as required by law
  • Improve our website, services and customer experience

We will not use your information for unrelated purposes, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

5. Who we share your information with

We treat your information as confidential. We only share it where necessary, and only with parties that help us run our business, including:

  • Email & website service providers — our contact-form enquiries are delivered to us through a third-party email delivery service (Resend) and our website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security obligations.
  • Suppliers and contractors — where needed to fulfil your project (for example, delivery or installation), shared on a need-to-know basis.
  • Professional advisors and authorities — where required by law, regulation or to protect our legal rights.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an adequate level of protection, as required by POPIA.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy — typically for the duration of our dealings with you and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle warranties, repeat work, and to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

7. How we protect your information

We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that may affect you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator where required by law.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
  • Ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
  • Object to the processing of your information in certain circumstances;
  • Withdraw any consent you previously gave (this won’t affect processing already carried out); and
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 11. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

9. Cookies

Our website uses only the essential cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to function and remain secure. We do not use advertising cookies. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

10. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Complaints and contacting us

If you have any questions about this policy, want to exercise your rights, or wish to make a complaint about how we handle your information, please contact us:

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
